LOVE DRIVING, LOVE THE WORLD AROUND YOU

A love of driving and a love of the earth can—and indeed must—be harmonious. To ensure a long and happy relationship between cars, people, and our precious planet, Mazda is focused on developing the entire lifecycle of its vehicles in an environmentally friendly manner.

OUR COMMITMENT TO PLANET EARTH

BY 2050, MAZDA WILL ACHIEVE CARBON NEUTRALITY DURING THE ENTIRE LIFE CYCLE OF ITS VEHICLES AND THE ENTIRE SUPPLY CHAIN.

REDUCING EMISSIONS FROM MANUFACTURING

Mazda takes responsibility for the emissions produced by its cars, not just when they’re being driven, but also when they are made and when they reach the end of their use. To reduce the CO2 emissions during the entire life of the vehicle, Mazda uses a Life Cycle Assessment, which allows it to pinpoint areas that can reduce the environmental burden of car manufacture, delivery, use, and recycling. It is our ongoing mission to reduce the environmental impact of Mazda vehicles at every phase of their life. We use a Life Cycle Assessment to measure, and subsequently reduce the emissions from our supply chain, factories, transportation, the vehicles themselves, and end-of-life programs.

MAZDA’S APPROACH

REDUCING REAL-WORLD EMISSIONS FROM MAZDA VEHICLES

The right car in the right place

There is more to reducing emissions than simply switching over to battery electric vehicles. If the electrical energy used to charge these cars is not produced sustainably then the emissions are merely moved to power stations. That’s why Mazda offers a multi-solution approach, providing a range of efficient internal combustion, hybrid,plug-in hybrid, and electric cars to suit customers’ needs and the power-generation situations across the world.

Which Mazda is right for me?

Choosing the Mazda that is best for you and the planet depends on where and how you live. Mazda evaluated the CO2 emissions in the life cycle of internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles in five regions of the world.

BY 2030, MAZDA AIMS TO REDUCE CORPORATE Well-to-Wheel CO2 EMISSIONS TO 50% COMPARED TO OF 2010 LEVELS.

MAZDA’S JOURNEY TO 2030

Mazda will introduce

13 new electrified models between 2022 and 2025: five hybrid electric vehicles, five plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and three electric vehicles.

Between 2025-2030

Mazda will introduce multiple electric vehicles.

By 2030

100% of Mazda products will be electrified and pure-electric vehicles will account for at least 25% of those.

THE ROAD TO ZERO

Mazda’s life cycle assessment has a zero target: net zero CO2 emissions. Here are just a few of the innovations Mazda is making on the road to zero.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Mazda has installed solar panels at its head office in Hiroshima, Japan. Our Hiroshima factory is now served by a 1.1 MW solar array that provides power to the entire plant and is also used to charge the batteries of the all-electric Mazda MX-30, which is made on site.

WHERE DO I FIND MY VIN?

Every vehicle has a unique 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) that contains information about that vehicle.
You can find your VIN:

  • On a sticker in the driver’s side door jamb
  • At the base of the windshield on the driver’s side
  • On your vehicle’s registration
  • On your insurance statement or proof-of-insurance card
  • On your financial services statement

COLLISION SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

If an accident is unavoidable then you can rest assured that your MAZDA has been designed to give you the very best protection. Impact-energy-absorbing features are built into the body, and every MAZDA includes a suite of secondary safety equipment such as seat-belt pretensioners and multiple airbags; even emergency services can be alerted.

The Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture that underpins our cars has been designed to absorb energy, reducing the risk of injury, and our Emergency Call System can automatically call for help.

PREVENTIVE SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

Should the unexpected happen, MAZDA Advanced Safety Technologies will be there to support you. This suite of features includes hazard alerts, such as Blind Spot Monitoring and 360-Degree View Monitor to help you spot and avoid potential dangers, and driver assists to help you keep control in an emergency, alongside additional aids like Smart Brake Support that can avoid collisions or reduce their severity in some situations. All of these features and many more are designed to assist the driver, not take away control.

MAZDA vehicles are equipped with a wide array of driver aids and safety features to help avoid accidents. Examples include Adaptive LED Headlights, Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, 360-Degree View Monitor, Smart Brake Support, Radar Cruise Control, and Driver Monitoring.

BASIC SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

At the heart of Proactive Safety is something you might not even think of as safety-related—making your MAZDA as intuitive and enjoyable to drive as possible. From excellent visibility to the perfect driving position to the car’s dynamic performance on the road, getting these basics right is essential to give you confidence and enjoyment behind the wheel.

MAZDA trusts drivers. By paying attention to every detail of the driving experience we can ensure that you are involved, entertained, and uplifted by driving a MAZDA, and fully focused on the road. As an example, the driving position is configured to keep your joints at a natural angle, making you more comfortable on long journeys and enabling you to be more agile in an emergency. MAZDA uses an organ-pedal style of accelerator that is designed to reduce fatigue, and the MAZDA instrument panels are designed to provide clear, easy-to-read information without having to divert your eyes from the road.
